I. Navigating to Dell Warranty Sync in Reftab
To kick off this integration, head to the Settings tab in Reftab and navigate to Integrations > Dell Warranty Sync.
Choosing the Dell Service Tag Field
Within Dell Warranty Sync, users have the flexibility to specify which field in Reftab contains the Dell Service Tag for their assets. There are two options for this:
- Asset ID Field, or
- A custom field of your choice.
Asset ID Field in Category: If you choose this, you will enter the Dell Service tag in the “Asset ID” field as shown below:
Custom Field as your Service Tag Field: If you choose this option, you will use the category editor page to create a field of your choice. For example, in the image below I have a field I created called “Dell Service Tag” that i’ve saved to my “Dell” Category. This would be the field you would enter the Dell Service Tag.
Dell Warranty Lookup
Once the groundwork is set, Reftab performs a seamless lookup through the Dell database, providing a treasure trove of information that can be integrated directly into Reftab’s custom fields. When creating a new asset in Reftab, you’ll enter the Dell service tag and upon clicking ‘save asset’, the Dell fields you’ve chosen to map will populate with data from Dell.
