Nuvve Corporation is a California based, green energy technology company. By focusing on the bi-directional transfer of energy, as opposed to only consumer charging, Nuvve helps shift energy back to the grid and store that energy for re-use. Nuvve’s goal is to further advance vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology to support bringing electric vehicles to the masses and significantly reduce the number of greenhouse gases produced by transportation and energy production.

Nuvve is the only globally-launched commercial platform on the market for vehicle-to-grid solutions. Their highpowered, bi-directional charging stations have been installed in France, Belgium, the United States, the Philippines, Japan, South Africa and elsewhere.

Nuvve needed a better asset management system to keep track of their charging station assets. With 600 currently being tracked in Reftab and another 1,000 more to come, they use Reftab to help coordinate the service and support of their assets across wide-spread locations.

Challenge

Nuvve’s primary challenge was coordinating service and support of deployed assets located worldwide. They found they needed to coordinate much of the same information to their partners and service providers.

“It was a challenge to understand the status of each asset, such as warranty, basic info, who to contact etc. in order to be able to effectively provide service and support” said Kevin Stone, Director of Quality Assurance.

Nuvve was previously relying on spreadsheets; so they needed a better place to store their information on assets.

Solution

Nuvve quickly found Reftab to be easy to set up and simple to use. Furthermore, Nuvve was already using Jira for their software development work and they had expanded to Jira Service Desk. With the Reftab Jira plugin, the company’s assets could easily be linked to their service tickets.

By joining the two, Stone says, “Internal employees and external customers can submit tickets outlining troubles with charging stations or other Nuvve assets.

Reftab can tie the problem with details on the specific asset so that information stays cohesive and readily available”.

Results

Nuvve wanted an efficient way to look at activity that may be associated with an individual asset or group of assets. Reftab with Jira makes that possible because it provides a central truth point as to where information about charging stations should be entered. Nuvve now has an easy-to-use, central repository for technical information on their charging stations, and no longer has information scattered amongst various locations.
