January 2026 Release Notes

Happy New Year!🎉

We’re starting 2026 with a few major releases. We have a new integration with Apple Business Manager, some quality of life updates, and some big changes on the horizon!

Apple Business Manager Integration

The Apple Business Manager integration allows Reftab to automatically create devices as soon as they are purchased through Apple and, updates Apple  warranty information.

We’ve placed the same checks for duplicate assets (match based on serial number). If you’re currently syncing Apple Devices through one of our MDM integrations, we still recommend connecting the Apple Business Manager integration. Both integrations will allow you to have a full view of your Apple Devices.

Calculated Expression Fields

If you want refresh dates to be based on purchase or warranty dates, Reftab can now calculate this automatically using expression fields. These fields let you create powerful formulas that reference other values in your system. For example, a common setup is a “Refresh Date” field that uses a formula like Purchase Date + 4 years. Reftab will then automatically calculate that date for you.

Utilization and Maintenance Charts for Assets

When opening an asset, at a glance, you’ll have a birds eye view of both the health and the usage for that particular asset. Both charts have a lookback window of the past 29 days, excluding today.­

Custody Verifications for Kits

We’ve finally added custody verifications for Kits. This was a highly requested feature, after careful consideration we’ve finally decided Kits need verifications. You can now verify, assets, accessories, licenses and kits (all items that can be assigned to a user).

n8n Node Available

A few requests came in for help with connecting n8n to Reftab. We’ve decided to build an n8n node to help with this connection. The node is under review with the team at n8n. However, if you are currently self-hosting n8n, you are free to install our node for early access.

Upcoming Features

• Browser Extension – track Shadow IT. The browser extension detects when users sign into SaaS tools using their work email domain and records basic usage activity. It does not have access to passwords, cookies, or browsing history. The extension automatically creates trackable applications in Reftab, giving IT teams clear visibility into what’s being used and how often (without compromising user privacy).
• Xero Integration – link invoice and finance data to software. This integration helps uncover applications purchased by your finance team and makes it easy to track and manage that spend directly in your Reftab account.

Minor Enhancements and Bug Fixes

• Ability to add existing field when editing an asset
• Added Pagination to the Loanee changelog tab
• Loanee name added with calendar feed for Location calendars
• Dell and Lenovo integrations trigger when the Intune integration creates assets
• Automated Workflows are now triggered when an asset is created from integrations
• Reservations tab on the Loanees page
• Report optimizations leading to decreased loading times
• Improved Loanee Overlay – Employee ID duplication issues, duplicate identifiers not listed as invalid
• Fixed issue preventing multiple signature fields on maintenance forms
• Fixed issue preventing Edit/Add (no delete) access role from transferring accessories
• Improved Serial Number mapping when creating assets from Intune (further preventing duplicates)
• Added support for a 4th tier location hierarchy
• LDAP enhancements (ability to sync more than 1,000 users)
