We’re excited to introduce a set of updates designed to give IT teams greater visibility, control, and automation across their software and asset management workflows.

Browser Extension for Software Discovery

The new Browser Extension, located on a tab on the Software page, can be deployed to your entire organization using your MDM. Once deployed, you’ll have an accurate look at all of the applications your employees are using.

As soon as a user logs into a new application, it will be placed in the Discovered Applications table. This gives you the ability to approve, deny, or link the record to an existing application.

Auto-Assign Software Licenses by Group

With Group-based license assignment, Reftab automatically assigns the right license to users based on the group they belong to.

A common example: an app like Figma, where your Design team needs a Professional license, your Developers need a Dev license, and your Marketing team only needs a Starter. Instead of managing each user individually, you simply map the license tier to the group. Reftab handles the rest automatically as users are added or moved.

New Integration: n8n

Using Reftab’s Open API with n8n lets you build powerful automations, from syncing assets with your other platforms to triggering specific alerts when equipment is checked out. This guide walks you through connecting your Reftab account to the official Reftab n8n node.

New Integration: Zentral

Zentral is a comprehensive, open-source Apple Device Management (MDM) and endpoint security platform designed for enterprises. With this new integration, you can automatically sync device details, ownership, and installed software, giving you full visibility without manual updates. This guide walks you through connecting Reftab with Zentral.

Minor Enhancements and Bug Fixes

We’ve also shipped a range of improvements to refine usability and performance:

  • Updated style of Remote Signature Capture page
  • Added ability for Remote Signature to use custom domains
  • Added ability to hide Maintenance and Utilization charts from the last release
  • Added the ability for Apple Business Manager to trigger automated workflows
  • Added the ability to email reports on demand
  • Removed hardcoded weekend disable from reservation calendar
  • Request portal now has a “Filter by dates available” at the start page.
  • Improved display of subscription billing for MSP users
  • More flexible MSP tenant quota
  • Fix for: Loanee overlay on new employeeid returning invalid id
  • Fix: Loan groups for kit signatures
